Training and development
We're committed to providing our people with opportunities to develop their skills and grow a successful career with MinRes.
Our Training and Development team provides comprehensive safety, leadership and business training for all MinRes employees. We deliver inductions daily to ensure new employees are equipped for their roles as well as practical assessments and immersive simulator training. We also support apprentices and trainees with structured programs and help graduates transition into the workforce.
Our MinRes Learn platform also offers a wide variety of comprehensive online courses for professional development.
Leadership
Our foundational program aims to empower emerging leaders by providing participants with practical tools and the skills to enhance their leadership capability while guiding and inspiring them to build their self-awareness and lead with influence.
The Leadership Essentials Program is specifically designed for frontline leaders to enhance their leadership skills.
This course is linked to units of competency of a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.
The Inspire program cultivates career resilience in emerging talent and facilitates connections across the company. It empowers participants with skills, confidence, and support to pursue leadership roles.
Trade and Trainess
A four-year structured training program that earns participants a nationally recognised trade qualification. Apprentices spend two years at our Workshops to develop their trade skill set before rotating to one of our operational sites for their third and fourth years.
We offer several traineeships with a range of registered training organisations. These include Processing Operators, Tyre Fitters, Servicepersons and more.
We offer annual dual trade and trade upgrade programs for people who already have a trade and want to expand their skills.
Professional pathways
Our Graduate Program supports university graduates transitioning from study into the professional workforce. The program is tailored to specific disciplines and includes practical training in technical competencies, rotations within departments, real life project work and development of skills through workshops and networking opportunities.
The Graduate Program is a structured program running between 12 to 24 months, incorporating a blend of on-site and office-based rotations.
Designed for university students in their final year, our 11-week summer program offers paid exposure to diverse work experiences, hands-on learning, and invaluable mentorship and development opportunities.
Aligned with our core value of Family, the NextGen Scholar Program provides work experience and financial support for students at university. It is available to family and close connections of MinRes employees.
Designed to foster networking and professional development for employees aged 23 and younger who are not in any MinRes formalised programs. This program provides workshops that focus on various themes such as networking, community involvement, and leadership interaction.
New to industry
(Drill, Dump Truck, Blast Crew)
This program provides first-class training with long-term career prospects for anyone wanting to enter the mining industry. Highly structured training in a supportive, welcoming team environment.
Our MC Driver Training Program is for those with an Multi Combination licence but no mining experience. In just four days, participants learn mining basics and lifestyle management, before being matched with on-site driving mentors to kickstart their mining career.
On the ground floor of our Training and Development Centre, we provide a state-of-the-art immersive learning environment with simulators for all mining equipment currently used across our sites.
The Accelerate Program is a learning pathway into Village Operations positions. Over two weeks, participants dive into essential training modules covering health and safety, inductions, first aid, food safety, Responsible Service of Alcohol, and benefit from an on-site buddy program.
