Located next door to the company's Osborne Park head office, the facility is understood to be the first on-site early learning service in Western Australia to be run in-house by an employer.

The centre can accommodate 106 children aged from six weeks to five years, supported by MinRes' own team of professional educators and teachers, and operates on a cost-neutral basis with significantly lower pricing when compared to external early learning facilities.

A play-based curriculum aligns to the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework and the centre’s learning philosophy places a strong emphasis on community and relationship-building.

MinRes Director People and Safety, Andrea Chapman, said the centre now makes it easier for working parents to balance their work and family commitments, helping ease the transition from parental leave back to the office.

“This is the latest step in our ongoing commitment to provide world-class workplaces, investing in wellbeing initiatives that support our people to be their best,” Andrea said.

The centre features four large outdoor environments with playgrounds inspired by the equipment used at MinRes’ iron ore and lithium mines in the Pilbara and Goldfields.

The Early Learning Centre's on-site kitchen prepares nutritious snacks and lunches overseen by MinRes’ Head Chef Benny Suwarno, with menus changing daily to offer tasty, balanced and creative meals tempting even the fussiest taste buds.

There is also a dedicated parenting room onsite, helping make the return to work from parental leave easier for new parents.

The service is already proving a big hit with employees and children. For MinRes Customer Experience Manager Jenna Reti, it’s a game-changer.

“Having my daughter right next door to the office means I spend less time commuting to and from childcare and more quality time with my family,” Jenna said.

“The caring and professional staff, along with the fantastic facilities, give me the peace of mind to focus on my job knowing she’s in great hands.

“My daughter is also a big fan of the yummy food served throughout the day and there is no shortage of toys and activities to make every day a new adventure.”
