The $90,000 deal will see MinRes continue as the League’s major sponsor - with MinRes’ logo adorning umpire uniforms and ground signage - and all finals matches will also continue to be known as the MinRes Finals Series.

MinRes will also continue to support the Mineral Resources Community Spirit Award to be presented at the League’s annual awards night.

The company has supported delivery of the NPFL since 2022, including the reserves and women’s seasons, as well as providing benefits to member football clubs.

The League is home to five clubs – Dampier Sharks, Karratha Kats, Port Hedland Rovers, South Hedland Swans and Wickham Wolves – and is one of the most hotly contested country football leagues in Western Australia.

All clubs have claimed a League premiership in since 2010, while Dampier has won the past three flags.

MinRes Manager Stakeholder and Community Engagement Daniel Barker highlighted the importance of the partnership.

“After a successful three years in partnership, we’re proud to continue as the NPFL’s major sponsor and continue supporting footy in the Pilbara,” Daniel said.

“Sport plays a pivotal role in local communities, so being able to support the NPFL to bring teams from Dampier, Karratha, Hedland and Wickham together is important for fostering a sense of community, friendly competition and ensuring sport remains accessible for everyone.

“MinRes is pleased to play a role in ensuring activities that have a heavy community involvement remain funded and drive connection in the area.”

NPFL President Michael Bunting said the League was excited and appreciative to continue their partnership with MinRes as the NPFL’s major sponsor.

“Football plays such an important part of the Pilbara region,” Michael said.

“It provides a space for women and men of all ages to have an active lifestyle and participate in a community that promotes mental health, cultural inclusion and a sense of belonging for everyone.

“With our MinRes partnership, we’re able to continue the administration of three league within the NPFL and provide the necessary resources to make the NPFL the success it is.”

The 2025 NPFL season kicks off on Saturday 26 April with teams going head to head across the Pilbara in Karratha, Dampier and Hedland.
