Mineral Resources’ (MinRes) Osborne Park head office has become just the second building in Western Australia to achieve WELL V2 Platinum Certification, recognising a premium standard of holistic wellbeing within the building.

Developed by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), the WELL standard incorporates of evidence-based, design, policy and operational strategies to promote improved health and wellbeing for building occupants.

The standard is based on 10 concepts – air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind and community – which together shaped how the MinRes head office was designed as a working environment supporting nutrition, fitness, mood and sleep patterns.

IWBI Vice President Asia Pacific Jack Noonan congratulated MinRes on achieving WELL V2 Platinum Certification for its headquarters.

“This project has undertaken and passed rigorous onsite performance testing and is a great example of how thoughtful design, a curated occupant experience and a focus on best practice amenities can lead to a health-focused indoor environment, which advances overall wellbeing,” Jack said.

“Congratulations to all those involved in this achievement."

Located at 20 Walters Drive in Osborne Park, the head office building was designed and delivered by WA-based agency Milieu Creative

Managing Director Davina Bester said considering people spend a third of their lives at work, a focus on wellbeing must be integrated into modern workplaces.

"Our team designed the MinRes headquarters with a goal to have people leaving feeling better than when they arrived. We brought comforts into the workplace through a range of purpose-designed intuitive spaces that inspire users to be their best self,” Davina said.

“Delivering a wellbeing-led environment meant thinking beyond the everyday necessities, instead exploring the added-value experiences that make life special. Though through this approach,we discovered the value of including a restaurant, café, creche and gym.”

“We designed the building to be all-encompassing with attention to detail, creating a space which places human wellbeing above all else.”

“By integrating the WELL framework within the building – through a restaurant, gym, café, medical centre and childcare – we’re setting new standards for holistic, supportive environments that prioritise everyone who steps into our building,” Myles said.

“Our employees are at the core of everything we do and this certification reflects our commitment to their total wellbeing by supporting a healthy work-life balance and fostering engagement.”

MinRes’ state-of-the-art headquarters has been open to employees, their families and visitors since June 2022.
