Danny Ford
Noongar custodian
Perth Region, WA
Noongar Elder, Danny Ford, was born in York, east of Perth, six decades ago to parents who were both just 17 years old at the time.
The family moved often so Danny attended many different schools. This didn’t however, dampen his hunger for knowledge. He would go on to graduate with not one but two degrees, qualifying as both a teacher and a social worker.
Danny continued to build on his success embarking on a stellar, three-decade-long career in the public sector across a number of departments including, child protection, family support, mental health, Aboriginal affairs, housing and training.
As a passionate advocate for Aboriginal people, he decided to establish his own full-service Aboriginal affairs consulting practice.
Danny’s work has always focused on addressing the disadvantage of Aboriginal people and the provision of appropriate services. While others describe him as a visionary, he describes himself as someone who likes to ‘challenge and nudge all the boundaries’.
He also sits on a number of Boards including, the Wungening Aboriginal Corporation and the Noongar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
