Legacy of Leadership
This photographic collection by internationally renowned photographer Russell James shines the spotlight on Indigenous Elders, past and present, who enrich, enlighten, and inspire us.

Elders are catalysts of change within their respective communities and beyond.
It recognises their role as leaders, trailblazers, custodians of cultural knowledge and celebrates their ongoing contribution as touchstones of knowledge and wisdom.
Individually, the Elders themselves are catalysts of change within their respective communities and beyond. Collectively, they offer a unique portal into leadership values they have been evolving for over 60,000 years.
While portraiture forms the foundation of this exhibition, the photographs also include landscapes and natural elements that reflect the strong connection between Elders and their country. The bond between Elders and their land is inseparable.
