Zimi has more than 40 years of experience in the design, construction and operation of minerals processing plants and infrastructure, both in Australia and internationally.
He is Chief Executive Officer and a founder of engineering firm, Ausenco Pty Ltd. Zimi has grown Ausenco from its inception in Australia into a well-respected global business with more than 3,000 people across 26 offices in 14 countries servicing the minerals and metals, oil and gas and industrial sectors.
He is the Queensland University of Technology’s 2008 Alumnus of the Year, was awarded the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy’s 2009 Institute Medal and is one of Australia’s top 100 most influential engineers as awarded by Engineers Australia. In 2013, Engineers Australia also named him Queensland Professional Engineer of the Year.
Zimi is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2019, he was inducted into the Engineers Australia Hall of Fame.
